Our office is just south of Newfane village, the shiretown of Windham County, Vermont. See our Map Page. We cover a large geographic area, depending on the property, from New Hampshire to New York in the southern half of the state. Most of the properties listed here are within 40 miles of our office but we network with other agencies all over the state and are members of the Southeastern Vermont Board of Realtors and the statewide Multiple Listing Service.
What’s so special?
For those looking to vacation here the resources are impressive. Mt. Snow, Haystack, Stratton Mountain and Okemo, all within 45 minutes, have some of the best skiing in the country. The Connecticut and West Rivers offers miles of natural beauty, fishing, boating, canoeing, etc. as do Lake Spofford, Lake Whitingham, Townshend Lake and myriad other waterways. This region has a steep terrain which offers 1) fabulous scenery, 2) moderate population, 3) many ‘protected’ settings and 4) natural Green Belts, undeveloped spaces creating wildlife sanctuaries because of this steepness. Everywhere you look there are panoramas of mountains, farms, quaint villages, waterfalls and covered bridges.
For the year-’round resident, the benefits are equally exceptional. Besides the recreational opportunities, the area offers a wonderful blend economic health, quality education and peaceful country living. Numerous books and publications have rated the area one of the best in which to live. Various employment and business opportunities are afforded by the ski areas and the three major cities in the tri-state area, Brattleboro, Keene and Greenfield. There are several excellent hospitals. For a rural area, arts and crafts are premier, with numerous music festivals, playhouses, college events and live performances.
